In the seventies, we identified this clone of Sauvignon Blanc as having superior merit. We subsequently discovered that it had a particular love for an area of rock and gravel down sloping to the river. The last decade “Block 3” has consistently displayed characteristics we prize highly.
The grapes for this wine are hand-selected according to flavor, quickly pressed to juice and allowed to settle while chilling. The juice is then transferred to near- neutral French oak barrels for fermentation and aging. Our artistic approach focuses upon preserving and enhancing the unique qualities of the fruit and site relationship. There is no infusion of oak flavors as that would detract from the expression
