In 1991 LuAnn joined her husband, Doug Meador, to build the Marketing division of Ventana Vineyards after an 18 year career in the Banking Industry. LuAnn has brought national recognition to the accomplishments of Ventana Vineyards, both to its wonderful wines and its grape quality. It is LuAnn’s personal focus to promote Monterey County’s Wine Growing Region as one of the premium producers of fine wine varietals. Monterey County is one of the largest producers of wine grapes and fine wines in California and LuAnn is enthusiastic about telling the world about the quality of “Magnificent Monterey Wine County”. She also promotes tourism through support and education about the wine industry’s benefits and contributions towards a healthy Monterey County.

Current Accomplishments

 Serves on the Monterey County Ag and Tourism Cluster for the economic Development Division of Monterey County (2003 to present).
 Serves on the Monterey County Travel and Tourism Alliance, a marketing committee and Board of Director’s seat which promotes Monterey County Tourism (2004 to present).
 Serves on the Board of Supervisors appointed Refinement Committee to review the proposed Monterey County General Plan Update focusing on a healthy Wine industry, Agriculture and Hospitality (2003 to present).

Previous Accomplishments
 President of the Monterey County Vintners and Growers Association for two years, 1999 and 2000 and is currently on the Board of Directors of the Public Policy Committee.
 In 1997, was awarded the “Hospitality Professional of the Year” by the Monterey County Hospitality Association.
 In 1998, was awarded “Volunteer of the Year” by the Monterey County Vintners and Growers Association.
 1997 founded and chaired for 5 years “The Great Wine Escape” for the Monterey County Vintners and Growers Association and the Monterey County Hospitality Industry to promote Monterey Wine country.
 Chaired and founded the major fund raising event for the Carmel Business Association’s “A Taste of Carmel” – 4 years; past board member 2 years.
 Board Member of the Monterey County Hospitality Association for 6 years (1996 to 2000) and (2002 to 2003).
 Served on Common Ground, a group dedicated to the responsible stewardship and education of all the resources of Monterey County. For example, agricultural land, water open space, housing and the economy for present and future generations.
